Wallets and terminals that trade on Hyperliquid can add a builder fee to every order. We measured it for 24 of them from Hyperliquid’s own fill records: on perps, from 0.006% to the 0.1% maximum.
A disclosure first. WatchCrypto is one of the apps on this page: its builder fee is 0.01%, set on 26 October 2026. Every other rate below is measured from what each app actually collected, not taken from its own pricing page, and the data is downloadable.
Wallets charge the most: MetaMask and Trust Wallet add 0.1%, the most Hyperliquid allows on perps, OneKey 0.08% and Phantom 0.05%. FOMO, a social trading app, charges about 0.04%, and Rabby, Liquid and Invo about 0.035%. The trading terminals charge the least: Hyperdash 0.015%, Insilico Terminal and Axiom 0.01%, and Borsa 0.006%. Hyperliquid’s own app adds no builder fee.
On a $10,000 market order, Hyperliquid’s base taker fee is $4.50. MetaMask or Trust Wallet add $10.00 to that; Insilico Terminal or Axiom add $1.00.
24 of the 30 apps that collected the most builder fees on Hyperliquid over the past 30 days, by DefiLlama’s count: those that traded at least $3M of perps through their builder code that week and whose builder address DefiLlama publishes. Busiest first, by the perps each traded over the whole week. Each rate is the builder fees an app collected divided by the value it traded, measured on the fills Hyperliquid publishes, which cover the first half of each day (how we measured).

HIP-3 markets are perps that other deployers list on Hyperliquid, each with its own order book. A dash means the app traded none of that kind that week. *WatchCrypto’s fee since 26 October 2026; it had no fills in the measured week. The data, with each app’s builder address: hyperliquid-builder-fees-2026-10.csv.

Fees are charged on the order’s value, so leverage multiplies them: $1,000 of margin at 10x is a $10,000 order. A trader who turns over $1M a month pays $1,000 a month in builder fees at 0.1%, and $100 at 0.01%. For the rest of what a trade costs, see the Hyperliquid fees guide, and to price your own, the Hyperliquid calculator.
Hyperliquid lets any app attach a fee to the orders it sends for you, and calls it a builder code. Before an app’s first order you approve a maximum fee for it, signed by your main wallet rather than a trading key. The fee is then set on each order, up to that maximum. Hyperliquid caps builder fees at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot, and you can revoke an approval at any time.
The fee is charged on top of Hyperliquid’s own; it is not a share of it. An app must also keep at least 100 USDC in its own Hyperliquid perps account to collect builder fees at all.
Hyperliquid publishes the fills that carry a builder code, one file per builder per day, at stats-data.hyperliquid.xyz/Mainnet/builder_fills/. Since early September 2026 each day’s file stops at about 12:10 UTC, so it holds the first half of the day. We use those fills for the rates: for each app we added up the builder fee and the value (price × size) of its fills from 19 to 25 October 2026 and divided one by the other, separately for Hyperliquid’s own perps and for HIP-3 markets.
For what each app traded and collected over every hour of the week, we use DefiLlama’s Hyperliquid indexer (hl-indexer.llama.rip), which reads a Hyperliquid node hour by hour and is where DefiLlama’s own builder-fee figures come from. Over the whole week, each app’s perps rate matches its rate on the published hours to within 0.003 percentage points. Which builder address belongs to which app comes from DefiLlama’s open-source adapters (factory/hyperliquid.ts), and the CSV lists each address, so anyone can repeat the count.
Each rate is an average weighted by value: an app that charges some users less, or runs a promotion, shows its average. Spot trades are left out, and so are apps that list HIP-3 markets rather than attach a builder code, since what they earn is not a builder fee. Apps can change their fees at any time; these are what each one charged that week.
Corrected 27 October 2026. The first version of this page took the week’s totals from Hyperliquid’s published files alone, so it counted only the first half of each day: the value traded was about a third of the real figure. It also missed FOMO, because the address we read for it was an old one. The rates did not change.
A fee that a wallet or trading app adds to the orders it sends to Hyperliquid, on top of Hyperliquid's own fee. You approve a maximum for each app with your main wallet before its first order, and Hyperliquid caps builder fees at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot.
0.1% of each trade's value, the most Hyperliquid allows on perps. From 19 to 25 October 2026, $376.4M traded through MetaMask paid $376,420 in builder fees.
0.05% on Hyperliquid's own perps and 0.081% on HIP-3 markets, measured from 19 to 25 October 2026.
Hyperliquid's own app adds none. Of the apps measured, Borsa charged the least on perps, 0.006%, followed by Insilico Terminal, Axiom and WatchCrypto at 0.01%.
No. It is charged on top: with a 0.1% builder fee, a market order pays Hyperliquid's 0.045% plus 0.1%, 0.145% in total.
Hyperliquid's info endpoint returns the maximum you approved for an app: send a maxBuilderFee request with your address and the app's builder address. Each fill an app sends for you also records the builder fee it charged.
