The dock
With Hyperliquid connected, open any Hyperliquid market in the terminal. The dock under the chart has three panels: the order form, your positions, and your open orders. It follows whatever market the active chart shows.
Placing an order
- Market: pick BUY or SELL, enter a size (or tap a % preset of your equity), submit. Fills immediately at the book.
- Limit: same, plus your price. Time-in-force options: GTC (rests until filled), IOC (fill what's possible now, cancel the rest), ALO (post-only — cancels instead of taking).
- Leverage & margin: the leverage presets and CROSS/ISOLATED toggle sit in the form; they apply per coin.
- Reduce-only: when toggled, the order can only shrink an existing position — it will never accidentally open one the other way.
Protecting a position: TP/SL
Every row in the positions panel has a TP/SL button. It opens two fields — take-profit price and stop-loss price. Set one or both and hit SET:
- Orders are placed reduce-only at full position size — they can only ever close the position, never flip it.
- As you type, the dock shows each level's distance from the current mark and your risk:reward ratio.
- Wrong-side prices are blocked before they reach the exchange (a stop above mark on a long would fire instantly — the dock won't let you).
- Once set, the legs appear in open orders tagged TP / SL at their trigger price, and the position row shows a TP✓ SL✓ chip. Cancel a leg anytime with ✕.
One current limitation, honestly stated: TP and SL are independent orders — if one fires, cancel the other yourself (one-cancels-other grouping is on the roadmap).
Good habits
- Set the SL in the same breath as the entry. The dock makes it two extra clicks — use them.
- Sanity-check the R:R readout before SET; below 1.0 means you're risking more than you stand to gain.
- Watch the book and tape around your trigger levels — you'll see stops work rather than wonder.
